Management Team

Andreas Cambitsis

"I’m sitting with a team discussing  the best way to extend our enterprise modelling platform to accommodate pre-packaged IP in order to help clients model complex problems in the fastest way possible;  I find myself presenting to an Executive of one of South Africa’s mobile operators on analyses that will assist in optimising their product portfolio; I’m pulled into a meeting where we discuss the applicability of a service oriented architecture and other enterprise design patterns for a project that has the potential to change how radio stations interact with their listeners.  I review a proposal that introduces the idea of deploying self service terminals to a retail chain which will increase efficiencies and provide additional revenue through cross sales offerings.   And all this in one day.  I cannot think of any other environment where I have the opportunity to be immersed in big picture thinking that can help companies grow, and at the same time be involved in the intricate details that can make this a reality.  For me integrating these two extremes (big picture thinking a detailed reality) is what Cyest is about."

Andreas Cambitsis has a B.Eng in Aerospace Systems Engineering and a Masters Degree in Operations Research from the University of Cambridge, UK.  Prior to joining Cyest, Andreas worked for three and a half years as a Strategy Consultant for Monitor Company.  During that period he acquired experience in several industries including, mining, financial services and logistics, whilst working on projects in South Africa, the US, Canada, and Europe.  At Monitor Andreas led several engagements where he specialised in the application of analytic technology for, amongst other things, competitor simulation techniques incorporating game theory.  Over time Andreas has developed niche skills in his primary passion, namely - addressing strategic business issues by developing analytical tools using cutting edge technology.

Elton Bondi

There are two aspects of this firm that I value greatly; firstly our ability to conceive great ideas, which we refer to as ‘potential reality’; and then more importantly to be able to nurture and grow these intangible ideas into tangible reality.  The achievement of this is both an art and a science and I am privileged to work with an extraordinarily talented and passionate team of people who have mastered this art and science.

We recognise that software technology is arguably one of the most powerful means of translating hope and dreams to physical reality.  It is exciting to for example see an idea solidify to a business specification and then further crystallize into a technical specification and then to a software application which enables a new business capability or a new insight which in turn results in increased profitability or enhanced service levels.  We do this for our corporate and government clients every day.

Prior to co-founding Cyest Corporation Elton worked initially as a strategy consultant, and latterly as investment banker for the Boston based Monitor Group, where he worked on strategic transactional mandates for a leading South African insurance company as well as a series of Pan European Pharmaceutical companies. Elton also led a number of asset optimisation engagements in the resources, petrochemicals, construction and financial services industries; based in both Johannesburg and London.

As a director of Cyest, Elton oversees the growth of all the group companies. He has a BA (law) degree from Wits, a PDM from Wits Business School (Dean’s List) and a Masters Degree from Wits Business School.

Gary Lane

“With over a decade of engineering experience in the mining industry behind me I am able to appreciate the profound impact that our work has on our clients.  At Cyest Analytics I am fortunate to work with an extraordinarily  talented and highly driven team that I do all of whom appreciate the true gravity and consequence of our work."

Gary is one of the founding directors of Cyest since its inception in 2000 and has a BSc (Eng) and MBA.  He worked in various engineering and project management roles within Anglo American for new mining business, De Beers, Debswana and ATD before joining Cyest. Gary has headed up the Cyest mining economic modelling and optimisation side of the business from the start.
